Aboriginal Artworks Selected for Fringe

As part of next month’s Adelaide Fringe festival, three members of our Aboriginal Art program will have their work included in “Yabarra – Gathering of Light”, a large interactive artwork on the banks of the River Torrens. Congratulations to Cooper Miller, Sabrina Burgoyne and Daqwan Saunders on this wonderful achievement.

The “Yabarra” project is described as “a story for the senses”; a projected light and sound experience that will guide patrons through an interactive cultural landscape, sharing stories of Kaurna country along Tarndaparri (the original name for the River Torrens). Cooper, Sabrina and Daqwan had their artworks selected for the show by a Kaurna community elder.

We look forward to reporting further on this initiative once the Fringe opens on Friday February 15th.
