Tough Competition at Touch Footy Carnival

On Wednesday of Week 4, two Year 8/9 touch football teams competed in the annual carnival against surrounding schools. This was hosted in Tumby Bay and coached by Ms Caitlin Randall and Ms Jasmine Woldt.

Our boys’ team started the day with a great win over Tumby Bay, but soon faced some very strong opposition from St. Joseph’s School and Navigator College, finishing fifth overall. Despite having no substitutes for the entire day, I’m very proud to say that the boys put in 100% for all of their games, even putting their bodies on the line attempting some try-saving touches. The girls were a strong team of six, winning four games and being closely defeated by Navigator College and St. Joseph’s School. The girls placed third overall, which was a great effort with no subs.

Special thankyous go to Mr Mark Fisher who volunteered his time to referee the PLHS games, and to Mr Shane Masson for facilitating another successful carnival. Well done to all the teams involved.
