Science Students Develop Marshmallow Catapults

Our Year 8 Science class has just completed a unit of work on the Transfers of Energy. They investigated the type of energy transfers and levers utilised in creating medieval weapons as part of a project integrating HASS, English, Science and Mathematics.

The students then used this knowledge to build and modify catapults to fire mini marshmallows distances of up to six metres – see if you spot a flying marshmallow in one of the attached photos!
