Section 106A of the Education Act enables schools, in consultation with the school council/community to set, collect and recover a Material and Services Charge. Attached is the written verification from the Chief Executive Officer in the form of a “Watermarked Notice”. Notice (1) is for Year 8/New Students, whilst Notice (2) is appropriate for all other students.
Our Governing Council will be holding a meeting on October 23rd 2019 at 7pm in the PLHS Staff Room, where this charge will be discussed prior to approval being sought. The legally recoverable “standard sum” will also be discussed at this meeting and we extend an invitation to all parent/caregivers to participate.
Please RSVP your intention to attend this meeting by 4pm Tuesday October 22nd 2019. In lieu of attendance at the meeting, parents/caregivers can express their views in writing to the Chairperson of the Governing Council prior to the meeting.
