Artists Contribute to “Our Young Mob”

Participants in Port Lincoln High School’s highly successful Aboriginal Art program have had their work selected to be a part of the upcoming“Our Young Mob” exhibition at the Adelaide Festival Centre. This is the seventh year in a row that our students have been chosen for this prestigious annual showcase of South Australian Indigenous art.

The vibrant pieces have been created using a variety of mediums including paint on board and canvas, screen-printing on fabric and aerosol with stencils. All of this year’s entries were completed by Year 8 students; their art expresses who they are and how they feel about what is happening in their lives.

“Our Young Mob” celebrates the vitality of Aboriginal art-making across the state and demonstrates the power of bringing people together; understandably, our students are extremely proud of their involvement.

We encourage all Port Lincoln community members to visit the display in Adelaide during the course of the exhibition (August 31st to October 14th), and congratulate these talented young emerging PLHS artists on this wonderful recognition.
