Assessment Type 1:  Specialised Skills Tasks (20%)

Task 1 – Camera techniques:

• produce a set of 6 images to reflect skills in selected photography techniques and present these in a personal photographic exhibition

Task 2 – Manipulation of digital images:

• use Adobe Photoshop to create an A3 poster to advertise tourism in central Australia

Assessment Type 2:  Design Process & Product (50%)

Design and produce a product that may take the form of a calendar, coffee table book, website or posters.

• Section 1: create a design brief identifying end users’ needs and outline constraints and considerations
• Section 2: create your product to your design brief specifications
• Section 3: evaluate your product against the criteria established in the design brief

Assessment Type 3:  Resources Study (30%)

• Part 1: students will investigate and analyse the functional characteristics and properties of two or more materials
• Part 2: students investigate and analyse ethical, legal, economic and/or sustainability issues

Assessment:

Students’ performance will be determined according to the Digital Communications Performance Standards as outlined in the Subject Outline. Grades A+ to E- will be used for reporting purposes.
