Content:

In Year 9, students will extend their knowledge of Indonesia’s exciting, colourful culture and language. Students can expect to increase their understanding and awareness of cultural diversity and Indonesia’s importance to Australia.

Students will learn Indonesian through the development of:

  • their ability to communicate in Indonesian, socialising, informing, creating, translating and reflecting
  • knowledge of Indonesian culture and society
  • understanding the language system, including sound, writing, grammar and text

Assessment:

Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes. Assessment is based on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. An emphasis is placed on interpersonal skills through conversations, role plays, surveys, games, film studies and listening exercises.
