Content:

This course is part of the Flexible Industry Pathways (FIP) program that is designed for students wishing to pursue a career pathway into the maritime sector. Students enrolled in the Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain) will be required to choose this to support them with their external studies, with the aim for students to work toward skippering a commercial vessel up to 12 metres in length. It is possible to join this class without completing the Certificate 2 in Maritime Operations.

Students will have the opportunity to practice their small boat handling skills using the PLHS boats and complete work placement in the maritime industry.

Assessment:

Student performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards as described in the Subject Outline. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
