In this course, students will continue to develop skills in working with a variety of materials to create designed solutions, and will deepen their learning about a range of Metalwork skills including:
Students will have the opportunity to design and manufacture projects of their own design, working through the design process to develop a brief, generate ideas through research, and refine designs through sketches. These processes will have a focus on projecting a range of techniques and skills tailored to Stage 1 Materials Solutions – Metalwork.
Safe work practices will be explained and emphasised. Students will be required to complete an online machine safety competency via OnGuard, before operating any workshop equipment or machinery.

Assessment:
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:
