This program is designed to educate students on the range of career pathways and employment opportunities in the building and construction industry. It is part of the FIP in Construction.

Students are asked to complete:

  • Building and Construction Industry Gateways SACE Stage 1 Integrated Learning (10 credits)
  • Workplace Learning Placement in the Building and Construction Industry (work experience as part of the PLP or an additional work placement prior to August 2023)

After completing the Construction Pathways course, students may elect to enrol in the Certificate II in Construction VET course the following year.

Special Comments:  It is necessary for students to wear safety footwear at all times in the workshop.  Students will need to provide their own safety boots.  These will also be essential for any work experience and VET courses at Year 11.

Assessment:

Students’ performance for the subject will be determined according to that subject’s Achievement Standards as outlined in the framework of the Australian Curriculum. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
