Young Artists Paint Deckchairs for Charity

On Saturday November 11th, Riding for the Disabled Port Lincoln will stage a unique fundraising event at the Croatian Club. Eighteen deckchairs will be auctioned, each featuring distinctive canvasses painted by local artists who have generously donated their time and artistic skills. Four Port Lincoln High School students have contributed to this wonderful initiative.

Angel Sambo and Jessie-Leigh O’Brien, members of our Year 8 Nunga Art class, have developed a vibrant, eye-catching design that reinterprets the traditional deckchair stripe. Their work is a reflection of the hope and courage required to reach for your goals.

Meanwhile, Year 9 Indigenous Art students Anastasia Scholz and Tullia Sellen have collaborated to create their stunning work with the Riding for the Disabled organisation in mind. Their composition features a tranquil sunset and seascape with Coffin Bay ponies leading and supporting a young boy.

The completed deckchairs will be exhibited at the Nautilus Arts Centre for two weeks beginning Monday October 16th; the general public are cordially invited to view these amazing works.

Congratulations to Angel, Jessie-Leigh, Anastasia and Tullia for their brilliant efforts.
