Indonesian Students Visit Singapore

On Monday October the 1st (during the recent school holidays), Mr Keegan Blows and I escorted a group of eight Indonesian language students to Singapore; this adventure had been a year in the planning and we were all very excited.

Gosh, did we hit the ground running! The students were very eager to experience everything that this amazing city had to offer. We visited the Botanic Gardens, toured on a double-decker bus, rode the roller coasters at Universal Studios, spent a day in awe at the Cloud Dome and Gardens by the Bay and tried to visit the top deck of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel (but unfortunately it was closed due to high winds). We also visited the cultural centres of Chinatown, Little India and Kampung Glam (the Malay centre) and enjoyed their more traditional architecture, restaurants and markets.

Singapore is a large, modern, technologically-advanced city with inspiring examples of architecture and engineering; we had plenty to see and always felt safe and welcomed by the friendly locals. Our students were fantastic travellers, always enthusiastic and willing to try anything (except the durian McFlurry!). They are to be commended for their behaviour; they did their school and their families proud.

A huge thank you to Mr Keegan Blows for attending; without him the trip would not have gone ahead.
